ABOUT PISCO

Peruvian Pisco

Pisco is usually referred to as the Peruvian Brandy but while it shares a fruity base with European Brandy’s like Cognac, Pisco has a personality of its own. Pisco works great in cocktails or enjoyed on its own.

Pisco production is highly regulated in Peru. It can only be produced in 5 official Denomination of Origin departments (Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna); from eight varieties of grapes. Non-aromatic varieties such as quebranta, mollar, uvina and negra criolla; and the aromatic varieties moscatel, torontel, albilla, and italia. Pisco must be bottled between 38% ABV and 48%. No colouring, flavouring, or even water can be added at any time.
